Weather’s cool. I like weather. I like a lot of weather, particularly wild weather. Clouds are kinda awesome… I’m always pointing them out to my children. Some of them (the children, not the clouds) tolerate me, and say, yeah, Mom, that’s cool. Others (well, one in particular) say, yeah, it’s a cloud. I’ve seen clouds, Mom.
And then I show them a picture I took of the clouds, and they see what I saw, and they say, oh!
What I do, it’s all about point of view. Looking at stuff, and seeing it a little differently than you do… because everybody sees things differently.
So I’m often looking up, because, as I said, clouds are cool. And lately, there are rainbows, like, every day. Everywhere I go. I went to the other side of the country, walked out of the house, looked up, saw another rainbow. I pointed it out to my best friend, and he looked at it, then looked at me, and said, I never would have seen that if you hadn’t pointed it out.
So. Points of view. And angles of view.
A rainbow is actually a full circle, not just the arch we usually see. But to get a photo of the full circle, you’d need an angle of view of (here it comes, you knew it would eventually) 84 degrees.
Photography, to me, is about finding that perfect angle.
